About White Rose Reiki & Reflexology

White Rose Reiki Reflexology Lancashire Treatment Room

"My name is Claire, I have been working as a health professional within the NHS for the last 20 years. I live in Lancashire and my holistic journey began in 2010.

I experienced a few life changing events which lead me to being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. From this diagnosis I met a lovely lady called Jenny at a support group. Jenny is a reiki master who was offering reiki to help with pain management.

I felt the benefits instantly and went on to study reiki level 1 so that I could perform reiki on myself for self healing. Jenny became my reiki master and friend and I have since completed level 2 so that I can share the healing with others. Reiki has become a part of my daily life.

I then looked to expand my holistic skills and studied reflexology which compliments reiki in many ways as well as bringing it's own unique benefits.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey to health"

History of Reiki

Dr Usui was born on August 15th 1864 in the village of Yago southern Japan. He was a very driven man devoting much of his life to helping, healing and teaching others.

Dr Usui travelled to the holy mountains of Kori Yama to learn how to help heal better and this is where he fasted and meditated for 21 days in order to attain a high altered state of consciousness which he believed would empower him with the healing energy.

On the morning of the 21st day, Dr. Usui was beginning to become frustrated with his situation. As he was about to give up and leave, that a great spiritual energy came down into the top of his head and he became attuned.

He passed his teachings onto Dr Chujiro Hayashi who then in turn trained Mrs Hawayo Takata and this is how Reiki was introduced into the western world. Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki masters who have been trained in the traditions passed down from master to student.

What is Reiki?

It is pronounced “Ray-Key” meaning universal life force energy, and is a system of natural healing associated with the “laying on of hands”

The Usui system of Reiki is a simple but powerful healing technique far removed from ideologies and belief systems that now divide humanity. Anyone can recieve Reiki healing the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed. You do not need to be of any particular religious persuasion or to have faith. Animals and plants also benefit from reiki.

It is acknowledged worldwide by health care professionals and scientists, that in order to maintain homeostasis the life force energy must flow freely around the body. We are born with this energy intact, but when it becomes low or blocked we have the potential to become ill or suffer from “dis-ease”.

Your Reiki Treatment

Reiki treatment is given by myself placing my hands in a number of positions on or near your body in a sequence.

You will remain fully clothed whilst having reiki. People report different feelings many feel a calm, warm sensation, relaxed state or others a tingling or cold sensation. Whatever the individual experience the beneficial effect of the treatment is the same, with the recipient receiving the correct amount of energy to bring about the necessary changes to restore balance within.

I will advise you to drink plenty of water to aid de-toxification and the shifts in energy within you that are taking place.

You can visit me for your treatment or I am able to travel to you and meet you in the comfort of your own home.

History of Reflexology

Reflexology has roots in India, Egypt, China, Japan, Russia, but it wasn’t until 1913 when Dr William Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the West as Zone Therapy. He had noted that reflex areas on the feet and hands, when pressed, gave an anaesthetic type effect on other parts of the body which then helped reflexologists with their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology map out the internal body structures in miniature on the feet and hands.

Modern reflexology is both a science and an art. As a science it requires careful study, faithful practice, a sound knowledge of the techniques and skill. Yet as one of the healing arts, reflexology yields the best results when the reflexologist works with dedication, patience, focused intention, and above all, loving care.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, relaxing therapy. The aim of reflexology is to help restore balance to the body naturally and improve general well-being. Reflexology works with subtle energy flows, revitalising the body so that the natural internal healing mechanisms of the body can do their own work. Reflexology practitioners work by applying pressure to particular points on the feet with their thumbs, fingers and by using specialised hand massage techniques.

Foot massage is the usual way in which reflexology is given - the feet can be seen as a "map" of the body, although if feet are injured then a hand massage can be given.

The Benefits of Reflexology

Stress, anxiety and tension
Induce relaxation
Improve circulation
Cleanse the body of toxins and impurities
Balance the whole system
Revitalize energy - this is all due to the reflexologist stimulating more than 7000 nerves
when touching the feet. This encourages the opening and clearing of neural pathways.

Your Reflexology Treatment

Suitable for all ages a full consultation decides whether treatment can proceed.

You will remain fully clothed, just take off your shoes (and socks) and lie on a couch or sit in a chair if preferred. The practitioner will then apply some pressure to your feet using their thumbs and fingers.

Even if you have ticklish feet, the firmness of the hold on your feet by the practitioner should not make you feel uncomfortable.

Following treatment, you will be advised to drink plenty of water to eliminate toxins from your body and rest as much as possible.

Gift vouchers are available if you would like to purchase a treatment as a gift.
